Terms of Use – Bolus Pilot

1. Acceptance of Terms

By applying to and participating in the Bolus pilot ("the Pilot"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not participate.

2. Eligibility

The Pilot is open to:

• Adults (18+) with Type 1 diabetes or insulin-treated Type 2 diabetes
• Residents within UK delivery areas
• Users of FreeStyle Libre or Dexcom continuous glucose monitors (CGM)
• Individuals who can provide informed consent

Participation is voluntary and may be discontinued by you or Bolus at any time.

3. Service Description

During the Pilot, Bolus provides:

• Weekly meal plans with carbohydrate counts
• Retailer links to purchase ingredients (you add items at checkout during the pilot)
• CGM-informed meal plan adaptation based on patterns from your Libre/Dexcom data
• Non-clinical product support only

No Service Fee: This is a company-funded pilot. You are not charged a monthly service fee during this evaluation phase. You pay normal supermarket prices for food items you choose to purchase.

4. Not Medical Advice

Bolus does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The service:

• Does not recommend insulin doses
• Does not replace healthcare professional advice
• Is not a clinical trial or medical device
• Should not be used as a substitute for proper diabetes management

Always consult your diabetes care team before making changes to your diet, insulin regimen, or treatment plan.

5. CGM Data Access

Bolus only accesses your CGM data with your explicit permission. You control:

• Whether to connect your CGM
• What data you share
• When to revoke access

CGM data is used solely to identify meal-time patterns and adapt future meal plans. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Your Responsibilities

As a pilot participant, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information
• Inform us of any allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions
• Continue managing your diabetes as advised by your healthcare team
• Report any concerns or adverse events
• Provide feedback to help improve the service

7. Grocery Purchase and Delivery

During the pilot phase:

• You purchase ingredients at normal supermarket prices
• You add items to your basket at checkout via retailer links
• Delivery is arranged through third-party retailers (e.g., Tesco, Sainsbury's)
• Bolus is not responsible for food quality, delivery issues, or retailer policies

8. Intellectual Property

All content, recipes, meal plans, and materials provided by Bolus are proprietary and protected by copyright. You may not:

• Reproduce or distribute materials commercially
• Share login credentials with others
• Reverse engineer or copy the service

Patent Pending: The Bolus system and methodology are patent pending.

9. Limitation of Liability

Participation is at your own risk. This pilot is for informational purposes only.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Bolus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for health outcomes, blood glucose control, or dietary choices
• We are not responsible for third-party services (supermarkets, CGM providers)
• We are not liable for data loss or service interruption

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under UK consumer law.

10. Termination

Either you or Bolus may terminate your participation at any time for any reason. Upon termination:

• You will no longer receive meal plans or pilot support
• Your data will be retained or deleted as per the Privacy Policy
• Any pending food deliveries remain your responsibility

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If material changes are made, we will notify you via email. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Pilot Duration and Future Service

The pilot is expected to run for a limited evaluation period. After the pilot:

• Bolus may launch as a paid subscription service (anticipated around £30/month)
• Pilot participants will be offered early access and pricing information
• There is no obligation to continue after the pilot ends

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
